There was a magical moment on my East Coast Tasmanian road trip. The first night we drove up to Great Musselroe Bay. Up at Top Camp there was only one other van, a surfing couple around the corner. Wallabies were hopping around eating scraps and whatever else off the floor, they had no fear of us whatsoever. I woke up in the car at sunrise, around 5am. I looked outside my window and looking back at me was a mid-sized Kangaroo. Right through the window he was sitting there staring at me while I slept. For about 5 minutes I stared back as he sniffed the ground and kept an eye on me. Then he hopped away into the bush. I will never forget that moment, a real Australian experience. Kangaroos watching me sleep.
